All Passwords are not the same, choose atleast a +14 character, complex, uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters.
If you have trouble coming up with passwords, try an online password generator: such as the one from norton, or random.org.
Remembering Passwords:
If you have trouble remembering passwords (Like I do!!) and want to jump towards a post it and keep it under your keyboard. Don’t. I swear by this password manager. 1password
1password not only helps you create a password, save the password but also lets you create automated logins, reward program numbers and your software licenses.
Install Anti Virus software:
For Anti virus software I install MalwareBytes Anti Malware. I have found from experience that this is the best option for tricky viruses such as ransomware. (Here is a post specifically about ransomware)
Keep your computer Patched:
Keeping your windows runtime and operating system patched will spare you from 0 day viruses. Here is an indepth article on using Ninite to patch all the runtimes. For the OS patching I use the inbuilt windows and mac update features.
Thanks for visiting, I wanted to keep this blog post short on purpose. The deal is for you to take action if you are behind on any of the important security concerns.
Thanks,
